History of Dashboard Trim Kits:
Years ago, the presence of genuine wood dash trim would distinguish British-made
cars from their American counterparts. The accented wood dashboards of Jaguars and
Bentleys always had that "Classy Look." In later years, wood dash kits became available
in the United States but the method employed was labor intensive and costly. Artisans
cut thin pieces of timber to certain shapes and then would hand stain each individual
piece, rubbing and polishing until the finish was deep and rich. These wood dash
panels were then fixed to the dash with screws and pins. This process caused wood
accented dashboards to be a very expensive option, usually costing $1,000-$1,500,
and generally offered only through new car dealerships. The breakthrough occurred
when 3M developed a double-sided adhesive tape that was then used to affix each
dash kit piece of wood or synthetic veneer to the dash. Not only was the installation
time of wooden dashkits dramatically reduced, but the new process was so easy that
any one could install a wood kit without professional assistance. Today, wood dash
kits are completely affordable and an easy do-it-yourself item. A wood dash kit
is just as classy and beautiful today as it was in the old days thanks to the advances
in the technology of wood dash kits.

Dash Kit Installation Instructions:
The following are the steps to correctly installing a wood dash kit:
- Check the fit and alignment of your dash kit pieces to make sure you have been sent
the correct dash kit for your
SUZUKI
. Do not remove the red backing of your dash kit pieces at this time.
- Clean the surface of your
SUZUKI
dash with alcohol wipes. This insures the dash kits pieces will not have dust
particles between the adhesive and the dashboard.
- If the temperature is below 70 degrees Fahrenheit we recommend heating the dash
kit pieces with a hair dryer or heat gun. This makes the dash kit pieces more pliable
and easier to install.
- Carefully apply the adhesion promoter to the dash kit pieces and apply the dash
kit to the surface of your
SUZUKI
dash.
- When installing larger dash kit pieces, carefully position the dash kit piece in
the correct place on your
SUZUKI
dash. Pull back top half and remove red dash piece liner from the middle
back to the top and then remove the dash piece red liner and continue with the middle
to the bottom. For smaller dash kit pieces, the entire dash piece red liner can
be removed at once.
- To complete the installation of your dash kit pieces, firmly press each dash kit
piece into the correct position on your dash.
- After installation of each dash kit piece is complete, use a soft cloth or sponge
to wipe each dash kit piece.
- Enjoy your new

Dash kit!
